When you shop at the iHeartDogs store, part of that profit goes to Greater Good Charities, an organization that helps a variety of animals in need. Greater Good Charities’ GOODS Program donates food and other essential supplies to animal shelters and rescues. Those donations help animal organizations save more dogs and help them find forever homes. Blaze is an example of a dog whose life has been changed by the GOODS Program.
Poor Blaze was abandoned on the side of a gravel road as a puppy. Thankfully, St. Landry Parish Animal Control of Louisiana took Blaze in and made him feel comforted and loved. He grew up in the shelter and fell in love with all the humans who helped care for him. He would give hugs to show his gratitude, especially when given his favorite food, treats, and toys.
After a long stay at the shelter, a rescue offered to take him in to improve his chances of adoption. As much as the shelter staff would miss Blaze, they knew this would be the best for his future. They put together a basket of Blaze’s favorite things to send with him on his new journey. Blaze seemed super grateful because he gave extra love to the shelter staff when it was time to say goodbye to them.
Blaze’s Promising Future
St. Landry Parish Animal Control receives donations from the GOODS Program, which allows them to keep dogs for longer than they normally would. By receiving food donations, they don’t have to worry about buying food as much, allowing them to focus their funds on other areas of care, such as medical needs.
“The GOODS Program has not only allowed us to give back to our rescue partners and community, but it has allowed us to give all of our animals more time to find the perfect homes and rescues,” St. Landry Parish Animal Control wrote.
Every time you shop at the iHeartDogs store, you’re helping dogs like Blaze get closer to the perfect forever home. Even small purchases can help change the lives of animals in need. So, thank you to all the heroes who have shopped at iHeartDogs to make an impact.
